What is the Family Self Sufficiency Program?
FSS is a HUD program that encourages communities to develop ways
for assisted families to get jobs that could lead to their
economic independence, or self sufficiency. The Public Housing
Agencies(PHAs) work with schools, businesses, and
other institutions to create programs that will give FSS families the skills necessary to get
jobs that will pay a living wage, which will ultimately aid the over all
well being.
